Masseria Ostuni lies inside a large estate of about 25 hectacres, and was built on old roman remains next to the old road that used to link Rome and Brindisi. It has been completely renovated with high-quality finishings and some special touches that make it very comfortable and homely, with furnishings and other details also of very high-quality. It is situated on a large farm with centuries-old olive trees, 4 kms from Ostuni and 1 km from some beautiful sandy beaches. The large grounds around the villa are dotted with courtyards and patios separated by orange and mandarin trees, and a little further away is the swimming-pool for the exclusive use of the guests of the Masseria. The villa has air-conditioning in all of the rooms, satellite-TV, a particularly well-equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher, and washing-machine (laundry service can be done by the staff). There are about twenty kilometres of coast here in a succession of bays among the cliffs, so guests can choose between the many white, sandy beaches or the rocky shores, where you can enjoy the sea with some of the most varied marine life in the area. Ostuni stands on a hill about 8 kms from the coast, and is called the white city due to its whitewashed buildings, but it is also famous for its cuisine, which has inherited its traditions from the simple peasant cooking of the area, and which uses ingredients both from the sea and from the hinterland. Brindisi airport is about 25 kms away, and Lecce with its splendid baroque architecture, 50 kms. There is a golf course 15 minutes away.
