San Cataldo lies about 12 kms from Lecce, the most important baroque town in Puglia. The nobility started coming here in the 1800s for the sun and for bathing in the sea. The coast is a long line of beautiful beaches as far as the wildlife haven "delle Cesine" and the salt lakes at Alimini. You will find all the services you might need in the village along with bars and excellent restaurants, and about 4 kms away, close to the remains of the castello at Acaia and surrounded by abundant mediterranean scrub, lies the very well-organized 18-hole golf course. Villa Calista lies in the quiet part of the village less than 200m from the beach and enclosed in a large garden with an 8x16m swimming-pool, a non-professional cement tennis court and large open areas with tall trees and flowers. The villa is furnished in modern, very comfortable style and is equipped with: satellite TV, stereo with CD player, telephone, heating, ceiling fans in the bedrooms, washing-machine and dishwasher. The kitchen is well-equipped and also offers an external working surface and barbecue. On request there is also a cook available who prepares excellent local dishes. The villa offers ample outside covered areas well-furnished with salons and dining areas, ideal for the hotter times of day and for relaxation. Close to the pool guests have the use of a dressing-room with shower. San Cataldo is a good starting-point for trips along the coast with Otranto 35 kms away, which you get to passing through several very attractive fishing villages and along a wonderful stretch of coast. The airport at Brindisi is about 48 kms away.
