La Palazzina is a old hunting villa built in the second half of the 18th century, surrounded by holm oaks and cypress trees and lying on a hill at 580 metres above s.l. These days the villa has been turned into a private villa furnished with excellent taste.
At the entrance to the villa is a delightful circular garden, and in the villa you will find intact all the features of the old farm, because it was conceived for banquets and ceremonies to celebrate the arrival of spring and the fertility of the soil; inside, on the ground floor, large rooms with fireplaces, with an exit onto the semi-circular solarium in terracotta in front of the house. On the first floor there are 8 double and twin bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and looking either onto the garden or onto the valley, whereas on the mezzanine floor there are two single rooms, each with bathroom and a large rustic salon with an exit to the 12x6m swimming pool.
10 metres from the villa, and still inside the grounds, the old lemon-house has been converted into 2 further double bedrooms each with bathroom. In one wing of the villa are the kitchen and larder. The furnishings are from the 19th century: sitting rooms with rugs, attractive wrought-iron bedsteads, and a pianoforte. The swimming pool is in a very panoramic position. The villa is equipped with TV, studio with books and local publications, upright piano, telephone/fax, stereo, 2 microwave ovens, 2 gas ovens, fridge, freezer, espresso coffee machine, internet wi-fi system. La Palazzina lies south of Siena, in the valley called Val d'Orcia, between Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, and Montalcino. This area is of particularly worthy note for its art, history, wine and cuisine; and is characterised by a hilly landscape, marked by rows of cypress trees, by castellos, ancient churches and abbeys and lies about half-way between Florence and Rome.
